Cloud Engineer

Cloud Engineer (Azure) | Contract | 6 months

Synchro are working exclusively with a leading IT consultancy, partnering with a global insurance and risk management provider, and we are looking for an Integration Engineer to join them on an initial 6-month contract.

As part of a global infrastructure team, the Integration Engineer supports and delivers IT integrations across the Group. This role involves working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, ensuring a seamless transition of IT services during periods of change.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement technical solutions that align with business needs.
• Manage IT integrations, emphasising hybrid on-premise and cloud infrastructures.
• Ensure adherence to IT security best practices and company policies.
• Offer escalation support throughout project execution.
• Perform root cause analysis and problem management to enhance system stability.
• Document processes and refine post-project support for greater efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Extensive experience as a cloud/infrastructure engineer.
• Hands-on experience with Exchange and M365 migrations.
• Migration of Windows Servers to Azure IaaS.
• Expertise in multi-site Active Directory environments.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Azure, M365, Azure AD, Intune).
• Solid networking knowledge (Layer 2/3, routing, MPLS, firewalls).
• Understanding of IT security tools (MFA, DLP, encryption, event logging).
• Experience in project delivery frameworks and time management.

Bonus if you have:

• Background in insurance or financial services is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Citrix and VMware technologies.
• Experience with application packaging and deployment using SCCM.
• Familiarity with email archiving solutions like Mimecast or Enterprise Vault.
• Understanding of identity management solutions such as Okta.

Location: Sydney - hybrid working arrangement with 2-3 days in the office per week and the remainder working from home."

Duration: 6 months

Day rate: $1,000 - $1,070 per day inclusive of SA.
