Anti-Money Laundering Officer (MiFiD)

Position Overview:

The Anti-Money Laundering Officer (AMLO) will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the company’s AML/CTF framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations especially under MiFID II, but also considering MiCAR and other relevant EU laws. The AMLO will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective policies, procedures, and controls to prevent and address money laundering (ML), terrorism financing (TF), and sanctions risks. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of the company’s operations and reputation in both the traditional financial and cryptocurrency sectors.

Qualifications:

• Education:Master’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field.

1. Experience:At least 7 years of experience in AML/CTF compliance, ideally within the crypto, fintech, banking, electronic money, or payment processing industries.
2. Proven expertise in managing AML/CTF programs under MiFID II and AMLD5.
3. Skills and Certifications:ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent certification in AML/CTF compliance (strongly preferred).
4. In-depth knowledge of customer onboarding, KYC/EDD principles, transaction monitoring, and sanctions screening.
5. Strong ability to collaborate with and challenge senior leadership and the Board.

1. Other Requirements:Fitness and probity respected by FMA to meet the standards for carrying out regulated activities.
2. Legal full-time residency in Austria, specifically Vienna, is mandatory.
3. Familiarity with blockchain technology and crypto asset compliance is a strong advantage.
