Event Operations Manager

We are European Blockchain Convention, a startup organizing events (6000+ attendees in 2024).

We organize conferences around topics that we are passionate about: crypto, blockchain, and AI (for now!).

We are looking for an over-achieving Event Operations Manager, to join the team!

The ideal candidate is passionate about event management, highly organized, and adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously. 

The candidate should possess excellent negotiation skills, a keen eye for detail, and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences.

Key responsibilities:

• Select, negotiate and manage event providers (stands, temporary staff, stages, audio, food trucks, lighting, Wi-Fi, badge printing, DJ, accommodation, experiences...)
• Design overall on-site user experiences, event layouts, floorplans, attendee activities…
• Find the best location and the best venue for each of our events and negotiate the prices
• Secure strategic support and involvement from government agencies and public institutions
• Coordinate with sponsors regarding stand designs, ticket allocations, and logistics
• Be the person in charge on-site during each event, coordinating the team (internal & providers)
• Find experiences to offer to our attendees (inside and outside the event)
• Implement and manage the networking app & ticketing platform
• Identify and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising event quality
• Compliance of safety regulations
• Provide an excellent customer experience
• And everything else to help us make our events the best in the industry!

Requirements:

• 3+ years experience in Event Operations (B2B)
• Strong negotiation skills
• Must be adept at problem-solving, have strong organizational skills, and be capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and customer oriented person
• Interest for technology, entrepreneurship, marketing, operations and finance is a plus

Additional info : 

• We work 4 days per week in the office (Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday) located in Poblenou next to the Bogatell metro station
• We work from home Wednesday
