Software Engineer - Frontend

WHO WE ARE
Hi, my name is Olof and I’m an Engineering Manager within Financial Services in the New Business digital area. We help our customers to finance their IKEA purchases without taking advantage of them, our goal is to increase sales and not to make money from people's financial situation. That's a thin line, but we’re walking it successfully!
In our team, we focus on creating seamless interfaces with financial partners and showcasing customer interactions with financial products. As a newly formed team, we are excited to expand our capabilities and deliver impactful solutions.
Our goal is to work in agile ways, driven by data and experimentation, to ensure we are always on the right track. With strong support from digital and engineering management, we are well-positioned to become a fully empowered product team and make significant strides in our journey.

WHO YOU ARE
You’re an engineer with a passion for the frontend and an eye for a good UI and UX. You want to grow yourself and help others to grow, you are not afraid to ask nor to share, you want to do the right thing!
You know your best practices, testing, automation and cloud development, and the tools that come with it. And what you don’t know you learn, either by yourself or by finding the right help. Perfect code doesn’t exist, but you still chase it, without giving up on delivering value in quick iterations.
You always have a big backlog, but you have a good understanding of what adds value now and what can wait, and you can explain your thoughts to others.
Here are some technologies and skills we’re looking for, ideally you have multiple of these:
- Experience with fully automated development setups for a great engineering experience
- Professional React experience, ideally also TypeScript
- API-driven frontend architecture, including an understanding of API design, backend for frontend or similar
- Cloud experience, GCP preferred
- Security concepts around cloud and frontend
- Python knowledge is also a bonus

This position will be reporting to the Engineering Manager within Financial Financial Services in Ingka Digital. The role is based in Hubhult, Malmö, Sweden.
