Backend Typescript Developer £40,000 - £55,000

My client is looking for an ambitious Backend Typescript Developer to join their busy team. Having gone through a sustained period of growth (including creating a new engineering squad for a large greenfield project), the team are once again scaling their core backend divison.

Within the role, you can expect to:

• Design, build, and optimise backend services and APIs in TypeScript
• Work with PostgreSQL to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval
• Deploy and manage services in cloud environments (AWS/Azure) using Kubernetes
• Collaborate with product & engineering teams to refine requirements and deliver high-quality solutions
• Identify and resolve technical debt while balancing delivery speed and long-term maintainability
• Help troubleshoot and debug production issues in a structured, data-driven way

About you:

1. A Typescript backend whizz
2. Proficient in designing and maintaining RESTful APIs
3. Comfortable working with relational databases (PostgreSQL etc)
4. Familiar with Azure (AWS is fine too)

Nice to haves:

• NextJS skills
• NestJS skills
• Docker / Kubernetes

This is a remote first role, with office travel once every 2-weeks. For the company, they'd love to find a strong junior / early mid-level who can not only work to a degree of independancy, but can justify their decisions or admit their pitfalls. The firm really admires technical growth - you care about the why and how, not just the what.
