About You

You are an enthusiastic and curious student or recent graduate with a passion for applied data science. Eager to put theory into practice, you thrive on tackling real-world challenges with data-driven approaches and possess an analytical mindset that drives you to ask the right questions to extract meaningful insights.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Project Support:
    • Assist in developing and implementing data science solutions that address business challenges.
    • Contribute to model building, testing, and refinement under the guidance of experienced team members.
  • Data Preparation & Visualization:
    • Use Python, R, and SQL to clean, manipulate, and transform datasets.
    • Create compelling data visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Looker, Superset, or Power BI.
  • Data Annotation & Training Data Creation:
    • Participate in data annotation efforts and help create training datasets to support model development.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with product, engineering, Government Solutions, and project delivery teams to transform raw data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
    • Present data findings to internal stakeholders.
Requirements

  • Work Authorization & Availability:
    • Must be able to work on US Government contracts that may be restricted to US citizens; existing security clearance (SECRET or higher) is a plus.
    • Authorized to work in the US.
    • Available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week throughout the semester.
  • Educational Background:
    • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Basic proficiency in Python or R and familiarity with SQL for data manipulation.
    • Experience with data visualization tools—particularly Superset—is highly preferred. Please include links to your work or a discussion of your experience in your cover letter.
    • Exposure to AI and NLP is highly preferred.
    • A strong willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies in the data science space.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain data concepts.
    • A collaborative attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
