Job Title: Network Engineer

Experience: 5-8 Years

Location: McLean, VA


Responsibilities:


  • Network Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing maintenance and support for the organization's network infrastructure. This includes monitoring network performance, troubleshooting network issues, performing routine maintenance tasks, and applying security patches and updates, Cabling and configuration.
  • Network Security: Implement and maintain network security measures to protect the organization's data and systems from unauthorized access, malware, and other threats. This includes configuring firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and other security devices, as well as conducting regular security audits and vulnerability
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve complex network issues in a timely and effective manner. This includes using network monitoring tools to identify performance bottlenecks, analyzing network traffic to identify security threats, and collaborating with other IT staff to resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of the organization's network infrastructure, including network diagrams, configuration files, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT staff, including systems administrators, security engineers, and application developers, to ensure that the network infrastructure supports the organization's business needs.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with network hardware and software vendors, including evaluating new products and services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that vendors meet their service level agreements.
  • Disaster Recovery: Participate in the planning and testing of disaster recovery plans to ensure that the network can be quickly restored in the event of a disaster.
  • Cloud: Manage VPC, WAF, Network and application load balancer, Transit gateway, Direct Connect and Teraform.


Qualifications:


  • Experience: Experience as a Network Engineer, with a strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, and OSPF.
  • Experience with network security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based networking technologies, such as AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network etc
  • Experience with network monitoring tools, such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages, such as Python or Perl, for network automation.


Certifications (Preferred): Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CompTIA Network+.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
