Project Engineering Manager

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineering Manager for our Recovery Group in the Project Excellence organization. In the Recovery Group you will handle the technical management of our recovery line projects technical project execution, you will work mainly with recovery boiler projects. Our Recovery business unit provides technologies and solutions to the pulp industry, with projects around the world ranging from equipment deliveries to complete process islands for chemical recovery.

As the Project Engineering Manager, you are the project manager’s right hand and make sure we deliver what was promised in the technical specifications, on schedule and as efficiently as possible. You will lead different fields of engineering in the project by coordinating the work, collecting and sharing information, working with discipline leads and giving technical support. You are often the first point of contact for technical queries from the customer, suppliers and internal stakeholders during the whole project timeline from sales to commissioning. You will have a strong role in purchasing, and you are also responsible for managing the project documentation flow and distribution.

Tasks include securing the validity and sufficiency of the engineering data, approving the data, and assuring proper engineering decisions, taking into account also the cost, schedule and safety aspects. Participating in site audits and customer meetings is a regular part of the work. You also support sales projects and substitute the project manager as needed.

Expectations

You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering and several years of experience from the Pulp & Energy industry, preferably of mechanical engineering in international projects. Fluent English skills are a must and knowledge of engineering software such as AutoCad, Comos, E3D and Navisworks is an advantage. This position includes regular travelling.

Proactive attitude, cooperation skills and an active communication style are essential to this position, as you will lead and pull together several stakeholder groups. You enjoy managing the overall project as well as solving detailed engineering problems, making prioritization as you go. You can think several steps ahead and understand the cause and effect of the engineering choices you make. You work independently and can make informed decisions in sometimes changing and uncertain situations.
