Adeptis Group is partnering with a specialist cybersecurity consultancy renowned for its work in protecting critical infrastructure, industrial environments, and operational technology (OT). This Berlin-based firm has a long-standing legacy of securing some of the most complex and high-risk environments across Germany and beyond.

With a core focus on deep-dive security assessments and technical excellence, the company is now looking to expand its audit and testing capabilities with the addition of a Penetration Tester. The Role

As a Technical Security Auditor, you’ll play a key role in assessing and strengthening the cyber resilience of enterprise and industrial environments. You'll perform in-depth technical audits across IT and OT systems, identifying vulnerabilities, evaluating defences, and helping clients meet both regulatory and internal security standards.

You’ll collaborate with a dedicated team of security specialists who are passionate about technical excellence, reverse engineering, and making an impact in the world of industrial cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive IT and OT security audits, including: 1. Penetration testing and security assessments across IT and ICS environments 2. Configuration reviews, code analysis (SAST/IAST), and vulnerability scanning
• Assess the security of applications, firmware, and embedded systems
• Analyse network infrastructures, industrial protocols, and proprietary components
• Develop Proof of Concept (PoC) exploits to demonstrate real-world impact
• Contribute to automation and tool development to streamline audit workflows
• Produce clear, technically sound reports with practical remediation guidance
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to communicate findings effectively
• Engage in research activities on new threats, attack vectors, and OT security trends

What We’re Looking For

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field - or equivalent hands-on experience
• Proven experience in penetration testing, security auditing, or vulnerability research (commercial or lab-based)
• Familiarity with OWASP standards and hands-on use of relevant security tools
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux environments
• Scripting or coding experience (Python, Bash, etc.)
• Solid understanding of networking, infrastructure, and application-level security
• A passion for critical infrastructure and industrial security (ICS/SCADA/OT)
• Strong reporting and communication skills in both German and English
• Desirable: certifications such as OSCP, CEH, or GIAC; experience in CTFs or lab environments
