Senior Backend Engineer- Kotlin/JVM

Overview

The Senior Backend Engineer position focused on Kotlin and JVM is a crucial role within our engineering team. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the backend services that form the backbone of our applications. Your expertise in Kotlin and JVM technology will drive the implementation of high-performance systems, allowing us to deliver scalable solutions to meet our growing user demands. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers, product managers, and QA testers, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of features. This role is integral to establishing best practices and setting technical direction for backend development. The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects and be at the forefront of technological advancements while mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with strong knowledge in Java/JVM/Kotlin, Rest APIs and exposure to alternate JVM languages
• They want someone with a Collaboration mindset and not just a heads-down coder
• Needs to have Kotlin, Java (modern JVM practices), or Python.
• PostgreSQL (including writing/optimizing efficient queries, performance tuning, DDL).
• Comfortable with Maven/Gradle build tools.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS are a plus
• Comfortable working in Kotlin and applying modern kotlin styles
