Software & DevOps Engineer (F/M)

Octave is a cleantech scale-up on a mission to deploy cutting-edge energy management and storage solutions. We are seeking an experienced Software & DevOps Engineer, proficient in Python, to help build and scale our energy management platform.

Your role

• Develop robust and scalable software solutions for our Energy Management System, and develop integrations and clients to communicate with third-party assets such as PV inverters, Battery Systems or EV chargers.
• Design, build, and maintain our cloud infrastructure to manage Octave’s fleet of IoT devices.
• Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments, testing, and monitoring.
• Support observability and system monitoring using logging, metrics, and alerting tools.

What you bring to the team

• Proven experience in software development, with a track record of writing production-grade Python code.
• Strong knowledge of Linux system administration and IT networking.
• Hands-on experience in DevOps and automation, with expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
• Experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions.
• Good knowledge of software security principles.
• Ownership mindset: ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver high-quality results.
• Strong communication skills in English.

With some (or all) of the following points, you have a clear plus

• Experience in IoT applications.
• Knowledge of industrial data protocols such as Modbus and RS485.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools for cloud automation.
• Interest in energy management or cleantech.
