Senior Network Engineer

Our client, a Top 10 Leader in R&D Globally, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mandarin speaking Datacom Network Engineer to join their dynamic team, located on site in Dublin. This key role will be responsible for maintaining and expanding the company's cloud data center networks across Europe. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical expert with a passion for networking and a strong understanding of modern data communication technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Maintenance & Operations:Proactively monitor and maintain the stability and performance of cloud data center networks.
• Respond to network alarms and incidents, troubleshooting and restoring services promptly.
• Conduct regular network audits and performance analysis.
• Network Expansion & Deployment:Participate in the planning and execution of new data center network setups and expansions.
• Perform acceptance testing of new network deployments.
• Network Automation & Efficiency:Develop and implement tools and scripts (e.g., using Python) to automate network tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Collaboration & Communication:Collaborate effectively with partners and customers, including regular meetings and communication.
• Prepare and present technical reports and documentation.
• Other Responsibilities:Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation and records.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of network operations and processes.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong foundational knowledge of data communication technologies: TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, VLANs, etc.
• In-depth understanding of network security concepts and best practices: Firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, etc.
• Hands-on experience with network devices and technologies from major vendors: Cisco (preferred), Juniper, Arista, etc.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems and related commands.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant industry certifications: HCIE, CCIE, CCNP, CCNA, or equivalent.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with network virtualization technologies (e.g., SDN, NFV).
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Mandarin Speaking is a MUST!
