What You Will Be Doing


As a Machine Learning Scientist specializing in content moderation and fraud detection, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our content integrity and user experience at Tripadvisor. You will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced machine learning models aimed at assessing the fairness, reliability, and validity of user-generated content. Your work will directly impact how travelers interact with our platform, ensuring they receive high quality, trustworthy information and recommendations.


You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including content specialists/analysts, software engineers, and product managers, to translate complex data into actionable insights. Your insights will guide the development of robust systems that enhance user trust and satisfaction. We seek someone with a deep understanding of machine learning principles, strong analytical skills, and a passion for creating equitable and impactful solutions.


Skills & Experience



  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.

  • Strong background in machine learning and statistics.

  • Solid foundation on data structures and algorithms.

  • Ability to write complex SQL queries. Experience with Snowflake is a bonus.

  • Proficiency in Python.

  • At least 2 years of relevant, practical experience.

  • Experience with MLOps processes, platforms and tools.

  • [Bonus] Experience with fraud detection and content moderation.

  • [Bonus] Experience with LLMs and GAI models, including prompt engineering techniques such as N-shot prompting, Chain of Thought (CoT) prompting and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).

  • [Bonus] Experience with deep learning, modern NLP & machine vision techniques.
