Scopely is looking for a Unity UI Engineer to join a new unannounced project within our Midcore division in either Ireland, Spain, Portugal or the UK on a hybrid/remote basis.

We are actively looking for a UI Engineer to join our team and help push the boundaries of UI design on mobile devices. As part of our expanding game development team, you will play a key role in helping the team deliver intuitive and rewarding user interfaces to millions of players for new features in our existing titles.

We are actively looking for a UI Engineer to join our team and help push the boundaries of UI design on mobile devices. As part of our expanding game development team, you will play a key role in helping the team deliver intuitive and rewarding user interfaces to millions of players for new features in our existing titles.
What You’ll Do
- Help sustain a pipeline for maintaining mobile UI integration
- Work with UI Designers to ensure their work transfers to the engine correctly
- Work with Game Client Engineer to ensure coding standards, create tools and workflows that will improve the project
- Be responsible for working within the Unity Editor, with Photoshop, and for profiling the game
- Identify problem areas and help create solutions and integration of assets as per Game Design and Art vision
- Define UI Tech best practices for localisation, performance, device specific requirements, etc.
- Take ownership of UI Implementation on features in development, and in pre-production
- Be part of breaking down stories into technical tasks that can be estimated
- Be part of a cross disciplinary team that uses a scrum-ish process Develop technology for next-gen MMORTS mobile games using Unity (for multiple platforms) aiming to be played by millions of daily players.
- Game-dev industry experience (AAA or F2P MMO game-dev experience)
- Experience in developing and integrating UI in games using Unity
- Advanced knowledge of C# scripting for both Unity UI and Editor
- Experience working with different resolutions
- Experience with Photoshop for editing and slicing images
- Ability to profile using given tools and identify problem areas
- Good eye for design. A mind for both artistic and technical workflows
- Good communication and collaborative problem solving
- Fluent in using Git
- Excellent C# (.Net 3.5) skills
- Solid understanding of programming principles, how systems work together and various common architectural approaches
- Competence with realtime shader development (HLSL/CGFX, Unity's ShaderLab)
- Very good understanding of real-time rendering and rendering bottlenecks
- Mobile experience (whether it’s native iOS or Android, or an understanding of the limitations of mobile platforms etc.)
- Ability to make critical artistic and process decisions to produce the best quality product
