Frontend Developer – Accessibility & Security (Trust Center Environment)

Location: Berlin (Up to 80% Remote)

Contract Duration: Until September 2026 (Possibility for Extension)

Salary: Up to €100,000 per year

Hours: 35 hours per week

Are you an experienced Frontend Developer with a passion for accessibility, security, and digital transformation? Join a high-impact project within Germany’s national security and identity sector, where you’ll be contributing to secure digitalization solutions for major clients and public authorities.

This is a long-term AÜG contract role with a prestigious government-backed organization specializing in secure identification, digital certificates, and trust services. Their work ensures compliance, security, and accessibility in critical digital infrastructure across Germany.

Your Role:

• Enhance an existing signature solution in the Trust Center environment, enabling secure digitalization for public and enterprise clients.
• Develop structured frontends using Server-Side Rendering (SSR), VanillaJS, and the Velocity Template Engine.
• Focus on accessibility (BITV 2.0 compliance) to ensure usability for all users.
• Write and maintain automated tests to guarantee functionality and accessibility (Karma, Jasmine, Selenium, Playwright, Axe).
• Optionally contribute to the visual enhancement and further development of a 2FA app (iOS/Android).
• Work closely with the backend team on interface design and API integration.
• Gather and implement requirements directly from customers, collaborating in an experienced agile team that values ownership and innovation.

Your Profile:

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional training with relevant experience.
• Strong expertise in semantic HTML, JavaScript, and libraries such as jQuery, AgGrid, and pdf.js.
• Experience with Velocity Template Engine for scalable template development.
• Familiarity with Git, GitLab CI/CD, Jira, and Confluence.
• Deep understanding of accessibility standards (BITV 2.0) and best practices.
• Strong experience in automated testing frameworks (Karma, Jasmine, Selenium, Playwright, Axe).
