Senior Business Analyst

Requirements

• 5+ years of background in business analysis or a related field
• Understanding of API concepts, with the ability to support system analysis tasks and contribute to API specification
• Experience working closely with development teams and architects to ensure API specifications align with industry standards
• Knowledge of Acord standards or willingness to learn and apply them in API development
• Understanding of incremental feature delivery, release phases, and scope management in a dynamic project environment
• Competency in backlog management, user story creation, and refining requirements for development teams
• Ability to map data fields and maintain up-to-date API documentation
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
• Scrum knowledge and experience working in Agile teams
• Insurance industry background

• Experience with Acord standards (preferred) or a strong willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements elicitation and management, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical feasibility
• Serve as a bridge between product owners, developers, and project leaders, improving the team’s efficiency
• Collaborate with developers and architects to define API specifications in accordance with Acord standards
• Maintain and update API field mappings to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Assess incoming requirements, prioritize backlog items, and ensure features are incrementally delivered
• Work closely with UX/UI designers to analyze Figma designs and identify gaps in requirements
• Support backlog hydration, ensuring the team is well-prepared for upcoming development cycles
• Provide documentation, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and API-related requirements
• Prepare for future API integrations with Carriers and third-party services, ensuring APIs are structured to be as generic and aligned as possible
• Stay up to date on the latest business processes and IT advancements to help automate and modernize systems
• Effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management
• Ensure solutions meet business needs, align with project goals, and adhere to API standards
