Data Science Internship

Role Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Data Science Intern to assist with a variety of projects that involve data analysis, machine learning model development, and data visualization. This internship will offer you the chance to deepen your skills in image processing, algorithm development, and problem-solving.

About the company:

Luo Automation is a progressive startup that mainly focuses on contributing to pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies. Within these industries, visual inspection of pharmaceutical products is a mandatory step to ensure that they are defect-free and follow the required specifications. Our goal is to actually relieve people from this strenuous manual task by using the power of machine vision technologies that automatically inspect products such as syringes and vials. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Research & Development: Stay up-to-date on the latest research in machine learning, computer vision, and visual inspection technologies, and apply that knowledge to real-world applications.
• Computer Vision Techniques: Help develop and implement image processing algorithms to enhance image quality, segment objects, and identify critical features in production environments.
• Machine Learning Model Development: Work on training and fine-tuning machine learning models (e.g., CNNs, deep learning models) to detect defects and anomalies in images.
• Data analysis and visualization: identify trends, patterns, and outliers in data. Create interactive data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings clearly.

What You Will Learn:

• Hands-on experience with data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
• Exposure to industry-standard tools like Python and relevant libraries (e.g., Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch etc.).
• Real-world experience working on complex datasets and solving data challenges.
• How data science integrates into business decision-making and strategy.

Who We’re Looking For:

• Educational Background: Currently pursuing a MSc degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Skills: Strong programming skills in Python, familiarity with machine learning algorithms (Pytorch, Tensorflow).
• Knowledge: Understanding of basic data analysis techniques and statistical methods.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Experience: Prior experience with data analysis, internships, or personal projects involving data science is a plus, but not required.
