SENIOR FRONTEND ENGINEER (NEXT.JS)

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer (Next.js) for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Romania. Our client is a financial technology company that specializes in providing self-directed Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) designed to empower investors to manage their investment portfolios, including alternative assets such as cryptocurrencies. Founded to simplify and enhance the investment experience, they offer innovative solutions that allow users to defer or eliminate taxes on their investment returns. Investors can access various investment opportunities through the network of CryptoIRA exchange partners, giving them the flexibility to choose from different tokens and coins. Founded in 2018 and based in Tennessee, the digital platform is designed for ease of use. It allows investors to easily navigate their accounts, make investments, and manage their portfolios from a single interface.

Overlap till 9 pm Romania time (a minimum of 4 hours of working time overlap with the US Central Time Zone is required).

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building front-end applications at scale, with deep knowledge of Next.js (or React, if it’s strong experience).
• Strong command of state management, performance optimization, and design systems.
• Solid knowledge of turning designs into polished UIs using Figma.
• Expertise in writing production code daily (80%+ hands-on) in a fast-paced, high-growth, or startup environment.
• Strong understanding of integrating with RESTful APIs, managing auth flows (OAuth, SSO), and contributing to API design discussions.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern testing frameworks.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with design, product, and backend engineering.
• Knowledge of front-end architecture with the ability to justify technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain performant, accessible, and responsive front-end applications using Next.js.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver elegant user experiences.
• Contribute to and help lead front-end architectural decisions, tooling, and best practices.
• Ensure consistent quality through code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Accurately scope and estimate work during sprint planning and deliver on time.
• Be an active participant in agile ceremonies and team collaboration.
