The Department of Molecular and Clinical Medicine, at the Institute of Medicine, conducts translational research primarily on metabolism, diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular disease in order to improve health and healthcare in the community. The overall goal is to create an excellent translational research environment of a very high international standard.
The position will be hosted in Muhammad Arif’s research group at the Wallenberg Laboratory. The group is part of the national Data-Driven Life Science (DDLS) program, funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. Their research focuses on developing computational methods and integrating multi-omics data to study progressive diseases, particularly cardiometabolic-associated diseases. Job Assignments
The work primarily involves collecting and analysing publicly available transcriptomics (single-cell and bulk) datasets, including GTEx data. You will also develop an analysis pipeline and implement it in a high-performance computing environment.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in bioinformatics, biostatistics, computational biology, data science, machine learning, molecular biology, or a related field is required. If not yet completed, please provide the expected completion date.
- A computational background and the ability to code independently in Python or R are required.
- Basic understanding of statistical analysis in large dataset is expected.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Experience in applying machine learning and/or network analysis in complex datasets
- Experience with analysis and visualization of large data.
- Experience with omics data analysis (e.g. transcriptomics, metabolomics)
