Your Contribution to Our Growth

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Technical Lead to join our team and take ownership of the development of our Front Office technologies. In order to be successful in this role, we’re seeking someone with a deep understanding of financial markets and extensive experience with trading systems to lead the design, development, and delivery of high-performance, scalable, and reliable trading solutions.

The ideal candidate is passionate about leading development teams, collaborating with key stakeholders, and driving the continuous improvement of our technology platform. You’ll work closely with traders, quants, and other technology teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, while ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. Additionally, you’ll mentor and guide a team of developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and best practices, and stay up to date with the latest trends in trading technology. The successful candidate will also ensure that all solutions comply with industry standards for security, risk management, and regulatory requirements.

This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who is a self-starter and has a strong background in the fintech industry, is comfortable wearing multiple hats, and has no problem with rolling up their sleeves and staying close to code.

This is a Full-Time, Permanent position working Hybrid out of either our Downtown Toronto office or our Downtown Vancouver Head Quarters.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the development of a variety of applications (order management system, trading apps, money management apps, payment apps, etc.), ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including traders, quants, and other technology teams, to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Architect and design robust, high-performance, and low-latency trading solutions and ensure their seamless integration with existing systems.
• Oversee the software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Mentor and guide a team of developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Stay informed of the latest trends and technologies in trading systems and evaluate their potential to advance our capabilities.
• Ensure adherence to compliance, security standards, and risk management protocols within the financial services sector.

We’d Love to See

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 of experience in software development, with at least 4 in FX/Crypto trading environments or similar (experience in the Capital Markets space is ideal).
• Proven experience as a Technical Lead/Lead Developer, with a strong track record of delivering complex systems leading development teams.
• In-depth understanding of front office technologies, trading platforms, and order management systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Javascript, Typescript.
• Experience with high-frequency, low-latency trading systems is a strong plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Experience with event-driven designs and technologies.
• Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or Solace
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of engaging with technical and non-technical audiences.
