Associate Game Artist

Position Summary

Are you the artist whose creative and out of the box ideas connect more users? Join our team and take your talent and skills to the next level with Play Simple Games. This Game Artist will be responsible for In-Game art and UI for mobile games and ensure the highest degree of engagement through your skills. You will be expected to be a powerhouse when it comes to the aesthetics of the games

Responsibilities

● Design and create visually appealing UI assets, including buttons, icons, menus, and HUDs, with a strong focus on readability, usability, and user experience (UX).

● Develop 2D game art, including characters, environments and props in line with the game’s artistic direction.

● Collaborate with game designers, developers, and UX designers to establish and maintain a consistent visual style.

● Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate UI flow and interactions.

● Work closely with marketing and branding teams to produce promotional art and in-game assets.

● Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and new tools to continuously improve our game art and UI design.

Requirements

● 1-2 years of experience as a Game Artist, UI Artist, or similar role in the mobile gaming industry.

● Strong portfolio showcasing Game UI design and various styles of game art skills.

● Proficiency in industry-standard software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Figma.

● Understanding of mobile game design principles, including accessibility and usability best practices.

● Knowledge of design principles like composition, typography, and color theory.

● Ability to create both stylized and realistic game assets, depending on the project needs.

● Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

● Passion for mobile games and an understanding of current market trends.

Nice to Have

● Experience with Spine, Blender, or other animation tools is a plus.

● Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows for optimising game assets while maintaining a polished and human-centered artistic touch.
