IT Security Analyst

About the Client:

Swoon is working with a leading financial services organization recognized for its innovation and commitment to cybersecurity. As part of their growing Security Operations Center (SOC), they are looking to onboard a talented IT Security Analyst II to help safeguard critical infrastructure, protect sensitive data, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Project Overview:

This position is part of a long-term initiative aimed at enhancing the client's enterprise-wide security posture. The project involves evaluating and improving existing policies, implementing new security tools, and supporting compliance efforts with regulations such as SOX and data privacy standards.

You will work closely with IT leadership, security teams, and cross-functional departments to ensure the security of cloud-based, distributed, and on-prem systems.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of IT security policies and procedures.
• Conduct technical risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Administer security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption tools, backup/recovery).
• Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts.
• Perform account access reviews and manage user access controls.
• Partner with internal product and engineering teams to ensure secure deployment practices.
• Stay current on federal and state information security regulations, identifying any changes and recommending updates to policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in IT security within multi-platform environments.
• Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as SOX, PCI, or HIPAA.
• Familiarity with tools such as SIEM, IDS, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management systems.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to lead or support security projects from planning through implementation.
• Preferred: Background in the financial services or insurance industry.
