To support our client’s ongoing growth and innovation, I am seeking a DevOps Engineer for a permanent role based in Dublin, with a hybrid work model.
Key Responsibilities
As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of automated deployment systems that support essential corporate and mission-critical functions. Your responsibilities include:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining deployment pipelines for on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Automating the installation and configuration of deployment environments using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Ensuring code readiness and validating code against checklists for seamless promotion across environments.
- Setting up effective monitoring and alerting systems to ensure prompt notification of system issues.
- Collaborating closely with development teams to streamline the code deployment process.
- Leading optimization efforts to enhance system performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Working with business teams to align IT solutions with overall organizational goals.
- Managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and service providers.
- Providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
- Degree in IT or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in managing and delivering database and deployment solutions.
- Strong expertise in building and managing deployment pipelines with tools like Terraform, Jenkins, and GitLab.
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Experience with logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace.
- Proficiency in configuration management tools (Chef, Ansible, Puppet).
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Maven/Gradle for application builds.
- Scripting experience (Bash, Python).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like OpenShift or Cloud Foundry.
- Experience in Linux administration and cloud-based technologies.
- Understanding of IT service delivery best practices (ITIL).
- Previous experience in the energy or utilities sector is a plus.
