Senior Machine Learning Engineer

The Role:

You'll be at the forefront of designing empathy-driven human-robot interactions, ensuring our robots understand and respond to the emotional needs of those around them. You'll work on groundbreaking projects, from body language analysis to adaptive conversation systems, all while navigating the complex environments in which Abi operates.

You'll Work On (Experience Not Required But Preferred):

  • Body language and emotion analysis
  • Biometric user recognition
  • Adaptive conversation navigation
  • Contextual awareness of environments
  • Model enhancement data pipelines
  • Anthropomorphic gesture synthesis
  • Mapping, localisation and navigation


Key Responsibilities:

  • Algorithm Development: Design, implement, and optimise machine learning algorithms, achieving empathetic social interaction, and adaptability in dynamic environments
  • Strategy: Develop and implement ML strategy roadmap that integrates state-of-the-art technology while aligning with the vision and input of our stakeholders
  • Data Management: Lead the collection, organisation, and management of large datasets to effectively train machine learning models
  • Pipeline Implementation: Create automated end-to-end data pipelines for the ongoing enhancement of models
  • Proactive Mindset: An innovative thinker who excels at tackling complex challenges and is equally adept at both strategic planning and hands-on execution
  • Execution & Planning: Ability to move fast in an environment where things are sometimes loosely defined and may have competing priorities or deadlines
  • Mentorship: Share your expertise and spark creativity by guiding fellow engineers and interns, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth


Requirements

  • High-level proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Python)
  • Comprehensive knowledge in machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g. Pytorch, Tensorflow)
  • Proven ability to architect and train models for complex, practical challenges
  • Practical experience with MLOps infrastructure and large-scale data management
  • Experience with creation and management large datasets
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, AI, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on machine learning experience in real-world applications
