IT Support Engineer

Do you want to build processes, tools and infrastructure for a rapidly growing, international Finnish-based automotive AR software company? Even if you are not a car person, it’s ok! Our code will run in millions of cars worldwide, and we’re pretty proud of that.

At Basemark, a Helsinki based software product company, you will have insight into and daily contact with a high-performance, low-level, safety-critical software engineering culture throughout the company.

As IT Support Engineer, you will balance a proactive development/task list while addressing immediate requests and needs of our internals and partners, as customer end-users. Whether it is device support, onboarding new employees on computer usage, or then creating isolated, secure network environments for high-security projects, you’ll work closely with your 2 other colleagues on a united mission.

You will improve automation of computer and mobile device provisioning across Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS and Android. You will assist your team on compliance and complex, segmented network configurations, including site-to-site VPN connections for major European industrial actors and their legacy environments.

Ours is a relatively demanding environment for a company of this size, due to large automotive partners and customers, embedded development and security requirements.

Who are you?

• You have interest in multi-platform endpoint environments (Windows, MacOS, desktop Linux).
• Experience in managing Windows/macOS through InTune is valued
• Keywords: Bash, PowerShell, systemd, Aruba, OpenVPN, Tailscale, Jira, AD/Entra
• SaaS and cloud-first mentality
• Automation of and making the most of M365 and its data boundary and identity management.
• An affinity for hardware and tinkering is appreciated but not necessary

You also are/have:

• Slightly faster thinker who still appreciates contemplative, strategic work and detail orientation from the rest of the team
• Outstanding social skills and interest in internal customer service.
• Courage to manage expectations and to set realistic timelines.
• Funny and charismatic but not calculating
• Understanding of information security and hygiene best-practices
• Dependability, understanding of confidentiality and respect for end-user privacy

Language skills

• Excellent spoken and written English is #1
• Finnish or Swedish are NOT a priority
• German and any Slavic languages are of special interest, as bonus skills

We believe that our flavor of IT-skills can be entirely self-taught. University degree not necessary.
