Application Developer: IBM Cloud Full-Stack
We are seeking an experienced Application Developer: IBM Cloud Full-Stack to join a leading global technology and consulting firm, based in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-native applications and services using a range of modern technologies. This role requires proficiency in both front-end and back-end development, along with extensive experience in cloud-native architectures, including microservices, event-driven systems, and serverless computing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable and resilient full-stack applications on IBM Cloud, with a focus on microservices and cloud-native architectures.
- Develop and maintain front-end applications using frameworks such as ReactJS or Angular.
- Build back-end services with Java, Node.js, Python, .NET, or GraalVM, leveraging microservices principles, domain-driven design, and API-driven interfaces.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement APIs for integration with various cloud services and external systems.
- Utilize frameworks such as Springboot, Quarkus, Django, and Express.js to develop backend microservices.
- Develop event-driven applications using tools like Kafka and Zookeeper to ensure reliable data flows and real-time processing.
- Manage services and applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), utilizing PaaS offerings such as GKE, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions.
- Implement cloud-native CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, efficient, and secure deployment processes.
- Follow test-driven development (TDD) methodologies to ensure the delivery of high-quality code.
- Contribute to the development of serverless and containerized workloads, adhering to best practices in DevSecOps, observability, and monitoring.
- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
Key Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a full-stack developer with a focus on cloud-native technologies.
- Proficiency in front-end development with ReactJS or Angular.
- Strong back-end development skills with expertise in languages such as Java, Node.js, Python, .NET, and GraalVM.
- Hands-on experience with frameworks like Springboot, Quarkus, Django, and Express.js for building microservices.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud-native architectures, including microservices, event-driven systems, and serverless architectures.
- Familiarity with hyperscaler cloud services and frameworks, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with Kafka and Zookeeper for event-driven applications.
- Proficient in using cloud-native CI/CD tools and practices for change release management.
- Strong understanding of 12-factor app principles, domain-driven design, and API-driven development.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, routing, databases, observability, and storage services.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with IBM Cloud services and infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker for containerization and orchestration.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps principles and practices for securing cloud-native applications.
- Understanding of performance optimization techniques and scalability best practices.
