Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for an Software Developer who has a background in payments to place at our client, a Big 5 bank.

• Client: Big 5 Bank
• Location: Downtown Toronto. 2-3 days in office
• Duration of Contract/Perm: 6-month rolling contract
• Start date: July/early August 2024

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Software Developer/Lead to join our client’s high-functioning Payment Hub team. You will play a key role in enhancing, adding features to, and integrating large-scale payment applications and systems for global foreign exchange processing. This role offers a dynamic blend of development, integration, and design, allowing you to make a significant impact on their our payment infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate large-scale payment applications and systems
• Enhance existing functionalities and implement new features
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution
• Maintain and troubleshoot codebase to ensure optimal performance
• Adhere to best practices for secure and efficient code development

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience with Golang (Senior developers with 2+ years of Golang experience will be considered)
• Strong experience using DevOps tools
• Proficient in REST APIs
• Working knowledge of payment systems or financial card payment protocols (e.g., ISO8583)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage projects independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to provide accurate estimates and timelines

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with Azure DevOps Pipeline
• Experience with VISA payment processing systems
