Responsibilities

  • Network Setup & Maintenance:Design, install, and configure local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and other network systems. Maintain and monitor network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.). Troubleshoot and resolve network issues to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Security & Access Control:Implement network security protocols to protect sensitive data (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, encryption). Manage user access to network resources and permissions. Conduct regular security audits and updates.
  • Network Monitoring:Use network monitoring tools to track network performance and identify issues before they affect users. Monitor bandwidth usage and ensure the network can support company needs.
  • Documentation & Reporting:Maintain network documentation for hardware configurations, software, and network diagrams. Prepare periodic reports on network performance, security, and incidents.
  • Hardware & Software Management:Oversee the installation and configuration of network-related hardware and software. Ensure hardware (routers, switches, etc.) is up to date and in good working order.
  • Collaboration & Support:Provide network-related technical support to employees or other departments. Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure integrated solutions across the business.
  • Disaster Recovery & Backup Systems:Implement backup systems for critical data and ensure disaster recovery procedures are in place.
  • Vendor Management:Liaise with external vendors for the purchase and maintenance of network equipment and services.

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years relevant work experience.
  • A degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a diploma in IT or networking.
  • Proficiency in managing LAN/WAN environments.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
  • Knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices.
  • Experience with network performance monitoring tools
  • Strong understanding of various operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, macOS).
  • Experience with network management software and firewall solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid network environments is an advantage.
  • Understanding of network security best practices (firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, encryption).
  • Familiarity with VPNs and secure remote access.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues quickly.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery practices
