Insight Global is seeking a PHP Developer to join one of our clients. We provide two SaaS solutions, designed to support United States distillery operations compliance requirements and we serve partners in 20 countries. We are passionate about helping our customers succeed, making it easier for them to be great, and we see ourselves as an extension of their businesses. As a Software Developer, you will be a key contributor to the evolution and delivery of our SaaS platforms. You’ll work within a collaborative Agile development team to build scalable, maintainable, and secure software that supports craft distilleries across the globe. This role is ideal for a developer who is ready to own technical workstreams, support architecture decisions, and continuously improve product outcomes. The need for this position stems from growth/bandwidth. It is a net new role. We are undergoing a product transformation.
Responsibilities:
- FULL-STACK DEVELOPMENT (50%) • Build and maintain scalable, maintainable SaaS applications using PHP (Lumen/Laravel), JavaScript (Vue/React), and AWS. • Write clean, reliable, and reusable code aligned with team standards and business/product requirements. • Design and implement new features, refactor legacy code, and contribute to system performance enhancements. • Develop and maintain the application’s data layer: model relational schemas in MySQL, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability. • Write automated testing (unit testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing), etc. consistent with department protocols as part of the development process. • Implement automated tests, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows that reflect DevOps principles and ensure release reliability.
- AGILE COLLABORATION & TEAM PARTICIPATION (20%) • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos. • Collaborate with Product Owners to refine user stories, clarify functional specifications, and estimate development effort. • Contribute to code reviews, team design discussions, and knowledge sharing practices that elevate team delivery quality. • Assist in documenting code, readmes, and feature behavior to support team onboarding and maintenance readiness.
- ARCHITECTURE & DEVOPS ENGAGEMENT (15%) • Partner with senior developers and technical leadership to evolve system architecture, including service decomposition and transition to microservices. • Support DevOps-oriented workflows including CI/CD pipeline optimization, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code using tools like Docker and GitHub Actions. • Assist in performance tuning, scalability evaluations, and resiliency improvements under guidance from technical leadership. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT & PRODUCT
- ALIGNMENT (15%) • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, serving as an escalation point for complex production scenarios. • Collaborate with QA, Product, and Customer Support teams to ensure smooth releases and platform stability. • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices, tooling, and documentation. • Participate in customer feedback sessions and provide technical input when needed to align product functionality with user’s needs.
Reporting Structure: Team Manager, Product Development
Location: 100% Remote (8 AM - 6 PM MST)
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in a full-stack SaaS or web-based development environment
- Experience in a modern version control environment
- Experience in an Agile environment
- Experience engaging in code quality review - collaboration with QA team Automated testing experience (Unit, integration, end-to-end)
- 3+ Years of Experience: PHP (Laravel/Lumen), Vue,.js Docker, MySQL, React, CICD tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub) DB Design, Integration, querying
Nice to Have Skills:
- AWS Ecosystem - EC2, RDS, S3
- API Development
- IaC
- Microservices
Compensation: Range: 90- 130K base - In addition to the base salary we have a unique bonus structure paid out in 2 rounds paid out in both cash and stock (usually 50/50 - some times exceptions). This is a very real bonus that is consistently paid out - estimate for this role is 10-20K - Company performance based Annual merit review process - average 4% increases
