Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Automation Engineer to join our Infrastructure Services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for improving the availability, usage, and inventory management of IT and electronic equipment across our network. This role involves equipment diagnostics, repairs, automation testing, and system simulation, ensuring readiness and functionality prior to deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate the procurement of materials to ensure equipment availability.
• Transport equipment across sites and process asset transfers in Oracle EAM.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, receipts, equipment status, and location (manual and electronic systems).
• Identify and document non-conforming items; coordinate corrective actions with relevant departments.
• Notify Procurement of any defective deliveries or discrepancies in quantity or quality.
• Monitor inventory of automation assets across petrol stations and warehouses.
• Repair equipment and maintain it as spare or service units for future use.
• Maintain and manage the automation test lab for simulation and system upgrade testing.
• Support commissioning and configuration of POS cash registers in convenience stores and petrol stations.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Information Technology, or related field.
  
  

Minimum Experience

• 8–10 years of experience in retail automation within a similar or larger organization.
• At least 1 year of experience as an asset controller.
• Experience in troubleshooting PC, POS systems, printers, and related electronics.
  
  

Certifications (Preferred)

• CompTIA A+ or Network+
• Technical certifications from Gilbarco or Wayne on fuel dispensers, ATG, or site controllers
  
  

Job-Specific Skills

• Strong knowledge of PC hardware, networking, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience in Windows 10 and Windows Server administration.
• Hands-on experience with forecourt devices: DOMS site controllers, Gilbarco dispensers, Veeder Root ATG consoles, Auto Carwash systems, OPTs, etc.
• Familiar with industrial electricity standards and capable of reading/interpreting electrical schematics.
• Proficiency in serial communication protocols and basic electronics repair.
• Skilled in creating databases and generating reports using MS Excel and MS Access.
• Experience with project management and technical documentation/report writing.

• Excellent physical health and free from chronic medical conditions.
• Effective English communication skills.
• Valid driving license in Qatar.
