Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior System Support Engineer to oversee and maintain the infrastructure of computer rooms and ICT-related systems across remote sites and petrol stations. The role involves ensuring regulatory compliance, implementing preventive maintenance procedures, and enhancing ICT support operations through the development of standardized processes, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage cables, cabinets, and overall infrastructure of computer rooms at remote sites.
• Monitor, operate, control, and maintain ICT facility systems, responding to unexpected conditions and coordinating with concerned departments.
• Act as the technical liaison for hardware operations and collaborate with contractors and internal departments for ICT installations and maintenance.
• Deploy and upgrade computer room infrastructure, including cabinet enhancements, cable and access management, and support related projects.
• Conduct preventive maintenance for automation equipment in petrol stations, including fuel dispensers, ATG, and site controllers.
• Develop and document ICT infrastructure policies and procedures to standardize operations.
• Provide insights and recommendations during design reviews to ensure operational and maintenance considerations are integrated.
• Manage and maintain documentation in compliance with audit requirements.
  
  

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
  
  

Experience

• 10–12 years of hands-on experience in building, designing, and maintaining computer rooms and data centers.
• Proven experience in data center and ICT facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  
  

Certifications (Preferred)

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+
• Technical certification in fuel dispensers, ATG, and site controllers (Gilbarco or Wayne)
  
  

Technical Skills

• In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, network operations, and IT security.
• Experience with retail and forecourt automation systems and related hardware.
• Engineering expertise in planning computer room expansion and infrastructure upgrades.
• Strong understanding of ICT standards and technical documentation practices.
• Proficiency in electrical and mechanical systems used in ICT environments, including transformers, UPS, generators, and switchgear.
  
  

Soft Skills & Other Requirements

• Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written).
• Ability to effectively coordinate with third-party contractors and cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as required by WOQOD.
• Must possess a valid driving license in Qatar.
• Excellent physical condition with no chronic medical conditions.
