About the Role

I’m looking for a Senior PHP Developer with deep experience in Laravel and a strong background in building scalable microservices using Docker and AWS. You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining core backend services that power my client’s applications.

You’ll also collaborate closely with frontend developers, DevOps, and product teams to ship high-quality, performant, and secure software.

Senior PHP Developer Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and architecture of backend services using PHP (Laravel) within a microservices-based system.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and service-to-service communication patterns.
• Utilize Docker for containerization and manage cloud infrastructure with AWS (e.g., ECS, Lambda, SQS, RDS).
• Collaborate with frontend developers working with Vue.js to build seamless user experiences.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentorship of junior developers.
• Ensure high code quality, security, and performance across services.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize systems in production environments.

Senior PHP Developer Requirements

• 5+ years of PHP experience, with strong expertise in Laravel.
• Solid experience with microservices architecture and Docker-based containerization.
• Hands-on experience deploying and scaling applications on AWS.
• Familiarity with Vue.js (or React.js) for frontend development.
• Proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases.
• Comfortable with Git, CI/CD tools, and working in an Agile environment.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and TDD practices is a plus.
