Call for freelancers: Graphic design

POLITICO is seeking talented freelance graphic designers to collaborate on a variety of design projects across the company. Our marketing, live events, and research & analysis teams regularly require high-quality visual content, and we are looking for skilled professionals with diverse design expertise to help bring our ideas to life.

This is a part-time, freelance, remote opportunity located in a European timezone.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and execute creative projects tailored to different teams' needs.
• Develop compelling visuals that effectively communicate complex ideas with clarity and precision.
• Ensure consistency in branding, typography, color, and layout across all materials.
• Think creatively and provide innovative design solutions for unique challenges.
• Work efficiently within deadlines while maintaining a high standard of design excellence.
  
  

What We’re Looking For:

• Expert knowledge of Adobe InDesign & Illustrator
• Strong typography skills – hierarchy, micro & macro typography, table generation, paragraph & character styles
• Attention to detail – ability to ensure accuracy and precision in all design elements
• Visual storytelling expertise – ability to translate complex data and concepts into compelling visuals
• Problem-solving mindset – adaptable, resourceful, and able to think outside the box
• Understanding of accessibility – ability to design with inclusivity in mind
• Excellent communication skills – ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders
• Motion & Digital Design Experience in AfterEffects (Bonus: Ability to create animations, GIFs, or social media videos in AfterEffects)
• Analytical abilities – capable of interpreting data trends to enhance visual messaging
