Chief Information Security Officer and Chief Technology Officer (CISO + CTO) (for BTGT Europe Ltd, UAB)
Job Responsibilities
This is a combined role that will take up both the information security and technology management functions.
As a Chief Information Security Officer, you shall be responsible for installing, developing, and maintaining the BTGT Europe's security systems.
The primary areas of responsibility of the CISO will be:
- promoting security awareness;
- creating and maintaining information security policies and escalation procedures, monitoring and analysing security alerts and access to restricted areas and confidential; data;
- ensuring that disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place and tested;
- maintaining a current understanding of the IT threat landscape for the industry, including applicable regulations;
- scheduling and performing periodic security audits; briefing the executive team on status and risks.
As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will oversee BTGT Europe's technological infrastructure and ensure it aligns with the company's strategic goals. Reporting to the CEO, the CTO will lead the development, implementation, and optimization of BTGT Europe's IT systems, ensuring security, scalability, and compliance with industry regulations.
The primary responsibilities of the CTO will include:
- designing and implementing IT architecture that supports BTGT Europe's electronic money and payment services;
- leading the development and integration of APIs and other technological solutions for service delivery and compliance with Bank of Lithuania requirements;
- ensuring the security of the BTGT Europe's technology against cyber threats by implementing advanced cybersecurity protocols;
- overseeing system audits, IT infrastructure upgrades, and disaster recovery processes to minimise operational risks;
- managing relationships with third-party technology providers and ensuring their services align with the BTGT Europe's requirements and regulatory standards;
- supporting the Information Security Officer in maintaining a secure IT landscape and ensuring all data handling practices comply with data protection regulations;
- staying updated on technological advancements and trends in the fintech and electronic money industries to innovate and enhance the BTGT Europe's services continuously.
The CTO will also ensure that BTGT Europe's technology supports business scalability, fosters innovation, and maintains operational excellence. This includes close collaboration with other departments, including compliance, operations, and security, to ensure the seamless delivery of services to clients.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field. A Master's degree is a plus. Relevant certifications are highly desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles, including at least 3-5 years specifically in information security and 3-5 years in a CTO or similar role.
- Proven track record of successfully building and managing technology teams and implementing robust security programs, ideally within the fintech or financial services industry.
- Experience in designing and implementing IT architecture for electronic money or payment services is essential.
- Demonstrated expertise in API development and integration, particularly in compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Bank of Lithuania).
- Experience with Web3 technologies, including wallet development, integration, and security best practices, is required.
- Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure and security.
- Experience reporting to and collaborating with remote teams, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience managing budgets and vendors.
Skills:
- Deep understanding of information security principles, best practices, and relevant technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, vulnerability management tools, cryptography, SIEM).
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, PSD2).
- Expertise in software development, systems architecture, and IT infrastructure management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, particularly in cross-cultural settings.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise language for non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken). Fluency in Lithuanian is a plus.
- Proficiency in relevant software and technology platforms.
Other:
- Willingness to stay up-to-date with evolving technologies and security threats, as well as regulatory changes.
- Strong interest in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a geographically dispersed team.
- Availability to work flexible hours to accommodate communication with the Asia-based team.
