If you're passionate about impactful projects and thrive in collaborative environments, we'd love to have you on board.

About the role

We're working on an exciting novel cancer therapy software project that involves multiple distributed components and workflows. As a System Engineer/Business Analyst, you'll play an important role in ensuring a successful realization of the complex system with an interdisciplinary approach, being a link between customers and developers.

What will you be doing?

  • Consulting with the customers, determining their needs and shaping them into requirements.
  • Taking part in development and integration of a complex software from multiple perspectives.
  • Understanding, co-creating, and applying the development processes for regulated software.
  • Providing a link between customer needs and production deliverables.
  • Performing on-site usability testing and training with end users.
  • Creatively solving problems during complex projects using technical and people skills.
  • Understanding the system as a whole to assist with proper design and development approaches of effective and safe systems.
  • Understanding project stakeholders’ issues – from developers, project managers, customers to users.
  • Designing safety-critical systems and involvement in the risk management process.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities—you’re the type of person who thrives on solving complex systems challenges, even if you haven’t worked in a specific industry before.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Being organized, detail-oriented: you excel at keeping track of complex systems and tasks, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.
  • Some basic programming knowledge (Python, C++ or C#). You’ll most likely not write code, but understanding basic programming logic and being able to read code snippets is required.

Education

  • At least B.Sc. in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering (or another related technical discipline) or Faculty of Medicine.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

Bonus points if you have

  • Previous experience in the medical field – industry, research or healthcare.
  • Work experience covering the complete development lifecycle (definition, design, implementation, integration, verification, testing, and deployment).
  • Experience with requirement elicitation: understanding customers' and users' needs, translating those into clear, actionable technical requirements, and managing conflicting or evolving needs.
  • Experience with usability testing, validating systems with end users, and incorporating user feedback to improve system usability and user experience.
  • Knowledge about healthcare/medical software standards and regulations such as ISO 13485, IEC 62304, or FDA 21 CFR Part 11
  • Experience with customer relationship management.

What we offer

  • Employment contract for an indefinite period with a six-month probationary period.
  • A work environment with flexible working hours and a hybrid work model.
  • Plenty of personal and professional growth opportunities combined with a competitive and periodically updated salary, tailored to your skills, experiences, and results.
  • Interesting work full of challenges in an international working environment.
  • Opportunities to work abroad.
  • High-impact learning culture: regular in-house and external training sessions and a team of international professionals eager to help you grow.
  • Many recreational after-work activities, unlimited coffee, soft drinks, fruit, and other well-being goodies.
  • Cosylab events (Teambuilding, New Year’s Party, … ).
  • Casual atmosphere with friendly faces where you can completely “be yourself.”
