Job Title: Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Job Purpose:

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and optimal operation of critical systems for enterprise customers. This role involves resolving technical issues, maintaining system uptime, and ensuring a seamless user experience by balancing system administration and network security tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

System Administration (30%–70%):

• Windows & Active Directory (AD): Manage and support Windows servers and Active Directory services, ensuring smooth operations and security compliance.
• Database Management: Administer and optimize SQL databases, with responsibility for backup, recovery, and disaster recovery using tools like Rubrik.
• Linux Systems: Manage, troubleshoot, and maintain Linux-based systems to ensure performance and availability.

Network & Security (30%–70%):

• Network Security: Configure, manage, and monitor Fortinet firewalls to protect the system and network from vulnerabilities and threats.
• Load Balancers: Deploy and manage F5 load balancers to optimize application performance, ensure high availability, and manage traffic distribution.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Incident Management: Respond swiftly to system issues and outages, minimizing downtime and ensuring quick recovery.
• Cloud Technologies: Assist with cloud infrastructure management, demonstrating a basic understanding of Azure or Oracle Cloud to support cloud-based systems.
• Virtualization: Administer VMware environments to support a virtualized infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and resource allocation.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in technologies such as Azure, Fortinet, and VMware.
• Experience: 3–5 years of experience in system administration, network security, database management, or similar technical roles.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong expertise in Windows and Linux system administration.
• Proficient in managing SQL databases and using backup and recovery tools like Rubrik.
• Experience configuring and managing Fortinet firewalls and load balancing technologies (e.g., F5).
• Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide effective solutions under pressure.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with internal teams and clients in a professional and clear manner.

Flexibility in Role:

The role may vary depending on operational needs, with a possible shift in focus between system administration (70%) and network & security (30%) or vice versa, ensuring flexibility and well-rounded expertise in both areas.
