The Paid Ads team was established in 2016 to provide an e-commerce advertising platform by relying on Shopee’s massive data. Our expertise covers data, high performance AI-based online services, distributed systems, machine learning algorithms, and ads business strategies. The team places a strong emphasis on technology and strives to achieve innovation.

Job Description

  • Handle the ads-post-deliver data flow, ensuring seamless integration and processing across different systems.
  • Design and implement high-efficiency servers capable of handling thousands of requests per second across multiple regions.
  • Utilize MySQL, Kafka, Redis, and other databases/middlewares to ensure robust and scalable backend services.
  • Work closely with different teams and product managers to gather requirements, write technical designs, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and stakeholders to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring high availability and reliability of backend services.
  • Proactively identify and resolve production issues, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and initiative.
  • Test code thoroughly, deploy, and maintain backend services to ensure high performance and reliability.
  • Build and enhance monitoring and alerting systems to ensure timely detection and resolution of issues.

Requirements

  • Final-year or Penultimate student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or any related fields
  • Full-time interns preferred, part-time interns who can commit at least 3 working days a week are also welcome to apply
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Golang, Python, Java, or C++.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with MySQL, Kafka, Redis, and other relevant databases/middlewares.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive projects to completion.
  • Proven experience in testing, deploying, and maintaining backend services.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and enhancing monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Prior experience in the advertising technology sector is advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience with distributed systems and managing large-scale data processing.
