Network Engineer

A prestigious federal government agency is seeking a Network Engineer to support and maintain its global IT network. This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of a 12-month extension, based in ACT, NSW, or VIC with a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in-office per week). You must hold a current NV1 security clearance

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for a global network spanning over 50 countries.
• Configure and maintain Cisco and Fortinet networking hardware and software, including SD-WAN, VPN Remote Access, and WiFi.
• Monitor and enhance network performance using SolarWinds or similar tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network security vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with ISM guidelines.
• Participate in an on-call roster and support after-hours/weekend operations as required.

Key Requirements:

✅ Technical expertise in Fortinet, Cisco, and Azure networking solutions.

✅ Operational experience managing and troubleshooting global network deployments.

✅ Strong communication skills and ability to liaise across teams and stakeholders.

✅ Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines while balancing BAU and project work.

✅ Cybersecurity awareness and experience mitigating security vulnerabilities.

✅ Must hold a current NV1 security clearance

Desirable Qualifications:

✔️ Cisco Certification (CCNA or equivalent experience)

✔️ Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
