Enterprise Architect

Job Description

We currently have a vacancy for an Enterprise Architect fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Brussels, Belgium. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.

Tasks:

• Develop and maintain enterprise architecture blueprints, encompassing business processes, information flows, applications, and technology infrastructure;
• Create and document architecture deliverables, including Architectural Decision Records (ADRs) and Solution Architecture Documents (SADs);
• Define and uphold a long-term architecture vision that ensures scalability, flexibility, and sustainability of IT systems;
• Align architecture with business strategy, supporting digital transformation, cloud adoption, and modernization initiatives;
• Establish and enforce architecture standards and governance frameworks to guide technology selection, system design, regulatory compliance, and security alignment;
• Ensure consistency and integration across systems by promoting standardized patterns, reusable components, and API-driven designs.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with a minimum of 15 years of relevant working experience in IT;
• Experience in Enterprise Architecture Frameworks such as TOGAF or others;
• Experience in container based solutions (Kubernetes), Docker and containerized workloads for deploying microservices at scale;
• Experience with distributed systems, service decomposition, and domain-driven design (DDD);
• Understanding of Cloud Computing concepts and experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure / AWS / ServiceNow);
• Understanding of asynchronous messaging patterns, Kafka and event sourcing;
• Understanding the middleware technologies and their role in integrating different components of an IT architecture deployed in hybrid environments;
• Knowledge of Service Mesh Frameworks, and their role in traffic management and security;
• Knowledge of DevOps principles and experience with CI/CD;
• Knowledge of API design principles and experience in managing APIs for efficient system integration;
• Knowledge of information system security principles;
• Familiarity with programming languages and development practices to understand application development processes (JEE / .NET / JavaScript etc.);
• Awareness of emerging technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML);
• Excellent command of the English language.
