Web Application Firewall Consultant (m/f)

We are seeking an experienced WAF Consultant to join our cybersecurity team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert consulting services related to Web Application Firewalls (WAFs), ensuring the security and integrity of our clients' web applications.

This role involves conducting thorough security assessments, implementing WAF solutions, and providing ongoing management and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Security Assessments: Perform comprehensive security assessments to identify vulnerabilities in web applications and recommend appropriate WAF configurations.
• WAF Implementation and Configuration: Implement and configure WAFs to protect web applications from various cyber threats, ensuring optimal security without impacting performance.
• Ongoing Management: Provide ongoing monitoring and maintenance services to ensure WAFs remain effective against evolving threats.
• Training and Education: Offer training and educational resources to clients on best practices for securing web applications with WAFs.
• Compliance and Standards: Ensure WAF configurations comply with relevant regulatory standards and industry best practices.
• Risk Analysis and Reporting: Conduct risk analyses, prioritize vulnerabilities, and provide detailed reports with actionable recommendations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with clients and internal teams to understand security requirements and implement tailored solutions.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of web application security principles and threats.
• Experience with WAF technologies and configurations.
• Good Knowledge of API standards (REST, SOAP, OAS 3)
• Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, OWASP, MITRE, ATT&CK, CWE).
• Proficiency in penetration testing and vulnerability assessment tools.
• LINUX proficiency
• JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Java, Python or PHP

Professional Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, preferably in a WAF consulting role.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing WAF solution for API

Education
