Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with Android application development.
• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.

The Android CoreOS team is responsible for building, maintaining, and updating the core foundational components of the Android platform. This team is made up of program management, the Android Frameworks, Media, Camera, Platform Programming Languages, System Health and Performance, and Updatability.

In this role, you will improve the quality and reliability of the Android experience while expanding the platform with features that make Android more accessible, user-friendly, secure, and enhanced with personalized Artificial Intelligence (AI).Android is Google’s open-source mobile operating system powering more than 3 billion devices worldwide. Responsibilities

• Build core platform APIs and services used to implement the Android Core Operating system.
• Support and release services via Google Mobile Services (GMS) that are important to the Android Core Operating system. Build tests and in-field metrics to ensure the quality of these platform services.
• Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
• Guide design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select among available technologies.
