Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Database Administrator to oversee the maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of our enterprise database systems, including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and other open-source databases. The role involves ensuring high availability, performance, and security of databases supporting critical business applications. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in RAC, ASM, cloud platforms, and ERP systems including Oracle EBS, Oracle Retail, CRM, and Payment Solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Oracle (12c/18c/19c), MS SQL Server (2019 and earlier), and MySQL databases.
  • Perform database patching, upgrades, migration, and security hardening.
  • Install, maintain, and upgrade ERP systems and business applications.
  • Administer Oracle RAC and ASM for high availability and load balancing.
  • Support and implement database services in cloud environments (DBaaS).
  • Execute cloning, backup/recovery, performance tuning, and health checks.
  • Handle data replication, failover, and disaster recovery setups (Data Guard).
  • Ensure timely application of patches and updates for compliance and performance.
  • Participate in architecture design and capacity planning for critical systems.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams for seamless system integration.
  • Provide documentation, support handovers, and status reporting to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience

  • 8–10 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator or Analyst.
  • Proven experience in database migration projects across multiple platforms.
  • Strong exposure to ERP environments including Oracle EBS, Oracle Retail, and CRM systems.
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing and DBaaS environments.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) – 12c/19c.
  • Oracle RAC Administration – 12c/19c.
  • Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA).

Technical Skills

  • Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard
  • Oracle Database Administration (12c/18c/19c)
  • SQL Server Administration (2019 and earlier)
  • MySQL and Open-source RDBMS
  • Oracle Apex, Enterprise Command Center (ECC)
  • Backup, recovery, performance tuning
  • ERP Installation, Upgrades & Migrations
  • Cloning, Load Balancing, High Availability
  • Linux/Unix Shell Scripting and Automation
  • Knowledge of cloud services (Oracle Cloud, Azure, AWS, etc.)

Soft Skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player with strong collaboration capabilities
  • Strong time management and documentation skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the downstream industry
  • Exposure to payment solutions and customer relationship management systems
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD in relation to database deployments
