Software Engineer II, YouTube Uploads

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.
• 1 year of experience with application development.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with software development in Objective C, C++.
• Experience or knowledge in Mobile Application Development.

In this role, you will be managing the user experience of YouTube uploads and support creators throughout their publishing journey. You will lead the client-side upload infrastructure for the YouTube, YouTube Studio, YouTube Create apps and contribute to the frameworks that support multimodal content creation.

Responsibilities

• Build new features to make uploads simpler and better integrated with Shorts creation and Studio other tools.
• Help creators distribute videos to the right audience, use generative AI for content and earn more through better controls and streamlined user experience.
• Scale the client-side uploads infrastructure for the YouTube mobile apps, ensuring reliable uploads.
