Your Mission

As a Python Backend Developer you will plan, develop, and maintain our backend systems and APIs in Python. Your experience with FastAPI and SQLAlchemy is crucial to creating performant and scalable applications for an optimal user experience. In close collaboration with our frontend teams and other colleagues, you will implement robust and efficient solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs in Python
Collaborate with frontend developers to seamlessly integrate UI elements with server-side logic
Ensure performance, quality, and stability of the applications
Implement security and data protection concepts
Write and maintain clean, maintainable code
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to colleagues
Continuously learn and apply modern technologies and best practices
Participate in agile processes (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives)

Required Skills and Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in Python backend development
Strong expertise in databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, DynamoDB)
Experience with RESTful APIs and web services
Understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architectures
Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and version control systems (Git)
Strong problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset
Fluent in English

Good to have:

Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Practical knowledge of FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and ORM
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI, GitLab CI)
Basic knowledge of frontend technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
Experience writing unit tests
Knowledge of microservices architectures and serverless computing
German is a plus for communication with our German-speaking team and clients
