React Team Lead

The Edenred Digital Center (EDC) in Bucharest, Romania is Edenred Group's largest Digital hub for strategic Tech projects.

Context/ ROLE

As part of the company’s digital transformation, Edenred has launched a major

program together with PPS.

PPS is a one-stop-shop for payment programmes. We are a MasterCard Principal Member and a full e‐money issuer, offering a range of services. We are unique as we process from a single global in-house processing platform and offering integration with Apple, Google and Samsung Pay services. We provide services to major international clients and consumers across a wide range of industries, including retail, finance, travel, telco and FINTECH.

We are looking for a Team Lead Front-End Engineer, to be a member of the Paytech Team.

Position SCOPE & Key Responsibilities

Reporting to Software Engineering Manager, the Lead Front-End Engineer would be responsible for managing a number of developers as well as contributing to the development activities in Bucharest in-line with the company’s goals and objectives.

Key result areas:

· Technical leadership of the design and delivery of web portals

· Ensures the highest quality through appropriate functional and non-functional testing, including device, browser, accessibility testing

· Responsible for the delivery output and outcomes of the team

· Actively supports, evolves and improves the portal product(s)

· Ensures direct reports are appropriately skilled, challenged and supported

Key tasks:

· Lead on the design and implementation of new web portal(s)

· Drive and support the team in delivering high quality solutions based on standards and best practices

· Work closely with the product organisation to define and document product features and associated delivery plans

· Work with other technical leads to define and utilise APIs to access the wider platform

· Manage and support developers & QAs

· Drive forward improvements to designs, tools and techniques

Required skills & profile

Technical

· Significant commercial experience of

o React

o Optimizing web applications in areas such as performance, security and resilience

o CSS, UX/UK design principles o RESTful API development

o TDD & Agile practices

o DevOps culture and practices

· Experience of the following would be beneficial:

o AWS services

o Front-end testing tools for cross-browser/device

Behavioural

· Decision maker – can weigh up complex options to reach the right decision

· Influencer – can articulate and challenge the status quo for the benefit of the company

· Strong communicator- written & verbal- able to explain technical issues and solutions to peers.

· Self-starter, problem solver

· Higher Diploma / Degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline.

· Experience of line management and setting/reviewing objectives

· Fluent in English (spoken and written)
