PHP Web Developer

Cheshire (on-site 3 days / WFH 2 days per week)

Candour have partnered with a thriving start-up in the automotive industry, looking to scale their development team to support in driving their digital presence, as well as building new features to improve their platform.

They are looking for a driven and communicative individual with at least a year and a half of commercial experience in development, using PHP as the core language, with Laravel exp a plus but not essential. Experience in WordPress, JS, MySQL, and Git would be desirable.

Required Skills

• PHP: Strong experience in backend development using PHP.
• WordPress: Proficiency in creating, maintaining, and optimising WordPress-based solutions.
• Laravel: Familiarity with Laravel or a similar PHP framework is highly advantageous.
• JavaScript​: Basic understanding, with knowledge of front-end frameworks like Vue.js or React being a plus
• .HTML5 and CSS3: Ability to develop responsive, user-friendly, and visually appealing interfaces
• .APIs: Experience in creating and integrating RESTful APIs for seamless data exchange
• .Databases: Proficiency in relational database systems such as MySQL
• .Version Control: Hands-on experience with Git or similar version control tools
• .Optimisation: Capabilities in performance tuning and ensuring system security
• .Problem-Solving: A proactive and analytical approach to tackling technical challenges
• .Team Collaboration: Strong ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, project managers, and marketing professionals

• sBuild and optimise WordPress-based websites to enhance the user experience and meet client specifications
• .Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and efficient backend solutions using PHP and Laravel
• .Implement and maintain secure systems in compliance with industry standards and best practices
• .Create, integrate, and document RESTful APIs to support seamless communication between systems
• .Support and troubleshoot existing platforms, ensuring issues are resolved promptly
• .Participate in front-end development efforts using JavaScript to enhance the functionality of web applications
• .Optimise website and platform performance for speed, responsiveness, and scalability
• .Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of solutions that meet business objectives
• .Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends, recommending improvements where necessary
