About The Role

Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Group Risk, Safety & Security team as a Senior Geopolitical Threat & Risk Analyst to be based in Doha, Qatar.

As a Senior Geopolitical Threat & Risk Analyst, you will responsible for supporting the delivery of an effective intelligence research and analysis capability within the Geopolitical Threat and Risk (T&R) team. In this role, you will research, analyse and assess security threats to QR people, assets and/or operations to support decision making and enable effective response measures to be implemented.

Specific Responsibilities For The Role Include

• Research, analyse, and communicate a variety of information regarding security threats (aviation and non-aviation) gathered from both open and closed sources in order to make sound risk-based assessments and recommendations, as part of daily scanning activities to ensure a constant review of security threats to QR people, assets and operations.
• Track and monitor security incident data through the daily incident tracker to identify trends and patterns and enable the team to proactively identify emerging security threats to QR people, assets and/or operations.
• Draft key security advice and recommendations to support the communication of security information to QR people through a variety of internal platforms including: GEMS City Risk Profiles; Security Briefings, Bulletins, and Advisories on a strategic, tactical and operational level, to reduce the risk to QR people.
• Support the annual review of the GEMS City Risk Profiles by reviewing the security advice and recommendations for each QR station to ensure information being provided to internal stakeholders is accurate, relevant, and current.
• Draft quality analytical reports and presentations to support the Geopolitical T&R team’s management in the briefing of senior leadership and/or stakeholders on key security issues.
• Undertake supporting intelligence research and analysis as part of the Qatar Airways Global Security Risk Register (GSRR) quarterly review process, to ensure a continual strategic assessment of security threats to Qatar Airways people, assets and/or operations, and help set the team’s strategic (geographical) focus for the forthcoming period.
• Draft text amendments to support the bi-annual review of the Geopolitical T&R team’s policies and procedures to ensure they are relevant, up-to-date, and in line with international aviation security regulations and standards.
• Undertake intelligence research and analysis to support the production of airspace and ground based security risk assessments to ensure security threats to QR are reviewed consistently and effectively.
• Support the Geopolitical T&R Manager in maintaining the team’s document library policies to ensure sufficient record keeping and compliance with company retention policies.
• Conduct desktop location security assessments for Qatar Airways contracted hotels / charter hotels, QR commercial offices, as well as other QR buildings, utilising a multitude of sources to identify potential location security concerns.
• Carry out desktop security assessments of proposed new Qatar Airways destinations to support commercial decision making.

About You

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

• Relevant College or University qualification with a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience.
• Experience in providing advice on geo-political security issues, including, terrorism; conflict, crime and civil unrest.
• Experience in security intelligence analysis.
• Proven ability to analyse and interpret security data from a wide variety of sources (open and closed sources) and make sound risk-based judgements and recommendations.
• Experience in aviation security threat and risk management within a global landscape will be highly desirable.
• Strong grasp of intelligence and data analytical techniques and research skills.
• Demonstrable understanding of threat and risk assessment methodologies.
• Highly developed report writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to converse, influence and maintain dialogue with managers, staff and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizing/planning and analysis skills.
• Sound working knowledge of MS Office applications including, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
