Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Strategic Planning and IT Governance
- Develop and implement IT strategies for infrastructure and operational systems, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall objectives and operational needs.
- Collaborate with management to align IT priorities with departmental goals for operations, engineering, finance, and HR, while ensuring adherence to IT governance standards.
b) IT Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of robust IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and security systems, to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
- Manage corporate IT services such as email, collaboration platforms, and standard software tools to ensure seamless communication and productivity.
c) Operational Systems Management
- Lead the implementation, integration, and optimization of operational systems critical to flight operations, engineering, maintenance, and other operational departments.
- Ensure all operational systems comply with aviation regulations and industry standards, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
d) Enterprise Systems and Applications
- Direct the deployment and maintenance of enterprise systems, including ERP, HR, finance, and other administrative platforms, to improve business processes and data management.
- Regularly evaluate system performance and recommend enhancements to align with evolving organizational needs.
e) IT Service Delivery and Support
- Ensure the timely delivery of IT services across all operational and administrative departments, resolving issues efficiently and minimizing disruptions.
- Establish service-level agreements (SLAs) and monitor IT support performance to maintain high levels of user satisfaction.
f) Budget and Vendor Management
- Plan, manage, and control the IT budget for infrastructure, operational systems, and enterprise applications, ensuring cost-effective solutions and value for money.
- Develop strategic partnerships with IT vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with service agreements.
g) Cybersecurity and Risk Management
- Oversee IT security measures to protect company systems, data, and infrastructure from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- Align IT risk management with the enterprise-wide risk management framework, implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
h) Team Leadership and Development
- Build and manage a skilled IT team, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities to maintain a high-performance culture.
- Identify staffing requirements and ensure training for IT personnel to keep up with industry advancements.
i) Project and Program Management
- Lead IT projects related to infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, and operational enhancements, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery Work closely with operational and administrative stakeholders to prioritize IT initiatives and manage resources effectively.
j) Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for IT systems and processes, providing regular updates to management on system performance and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, aviation regulations, and IT industry best practices.
k) Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and technology upgrades across IT infrastructure and operational systems.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation to support the company’s growth and operational excellence.
l) Ad-Hoc Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support business and operational needs.
Education & Experience:
- Graduate Degree with specialization in IT or any graduate degree with Higher Diploma in IT
- 15 years of related work experience with a minimum of 8 years’ experience as heading the IT function in an airline
Special Skills & Knowledge:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Must have good working knowledge of airline business operations
- Knowledge of computer and/or network security systems, applications, procedures, and techniques.
- Troubleshooting and diagnostic ability.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
- The ability to develop, influence, and manage policy making in regards to information technology in the organisation
- Exceptional business knowledge with regard to airline IT solutions
- Excellent man management and time management skills
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
