Java Software Engineer

Medior Java Software Engineer - up to 85k gross - Rotterdam (relocation from abroad is not possible)

Are you passionate about Core Java in combination with Event Sourcing, DDD & Kafka running on AWS?

Our client is the driving organization between all communication & innovation in the big Dutch ports. The company has made them the smartest ports of Europe and are investing heavily in development of technology. And due to their success, they are hiring experienced Java Developers. Over 4000 stakeholders are dependent on the solutions that they built.

They have built systems / software that streamlines all communication throughout the supply chain, from the boats entering the ports to the actual points of delivery somewhere in Europe. All timelines, locations, stakeholders, paperwork, approvals, etc. are going through their systems. As such they have a complex set-up integrating their applications through different API’s with 4.000 stakeholders.

The solutions and infrastructure platform are state of the art, and the set-up is within AWS. They also invest in technology to strategically use all the data they collect and are taking steps within predictive analyses, machine learning, AI, etc. Hence, Event Sourcing, CQRS and Kafka are key technologies for them.

If for you; Scrum is not your goal, but the Agile way of working is how you think and operate. And you heavily want to focus on optimizing the process of decision making (end to end responsibility), working method on projects, sharing knowledge, dedicated time is reserved for personal growth. Great recent success story is a project in which they made the Dutch ports ready for a No Deal Brexit.

My client is looking for an experienced Java developer who:

• Has the ambition to grow into a Tech Lead position;
• Has experience and strongly believes in the Agile way of working;
• Demonstrable experience with Core Java, Spring (Boot, Cloud), CI/CD;
• Either working experience with AWS or strong ambition to learn the AWS Cloud;
• Believes that Test Automation is a team effort;
• Are a fan of the DevOps mindset.

Big plus:

• Experience with Event Sourcing, CQRS, DDD and Kafka;
• Serverless computing;
• Experience with Angular.

Location: center of Rotterdam.

Salary: max. 85k + indefinite contract + strong package.
