Senior Search Engine Developer (Data & Insights)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Search Engineer to join our Data & Insights Data Product Development Team. In this role, you will design high-performance in-site search solutions that enhance user experiences and drive efficiency. You will work on data-driven projects aimed at improving system performance and business outcomes. What you'll do:

• Build a versatile and scalable Search system.
• Develop supporting components to improve the Search system.
• Work in a fast-paced environment utilizing cloud capabilities.
• Develop data-heavy projects.
• Conduct code reviews, provide feedback, and contribute to the development of team members.
• Stay up-to-date with technological advancements, and implement new tools and solutions.
• Lead technology transformation in search engine architecture.
• Define and recommend best practices tailored to n11’s needs and search infrastructure.

Who you are:

• At least 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in designing and building backend systems, with strong expertise in Java, Spring (and its components), and Microservices.
• Experience with Solr, ElasticSearch.
• Experience with NoSQL databases and other data analytics applications (ELK, Couchbase, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, etc.)
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.).
• Experience integrating Machine Learning into search systems or relevant projects.
• Experience with messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration frameworks, such as Docker and/or Kubernetes.
• Experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies.
• Good knowledge of Object-Oriented design and SOLID principles.
• Experience in TDD, DDD.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
